I usually end conversations with something like that. My favorite is, “I hope you have the best day ever.” And I do.
As I left the bank this morning, I dropped the “awesome day” line. And though it’s a line, I really hope the teller has an awesome day. But as the words came, I was jarred.
“I’m here until 7, so that’s probably not going to happen.”
She smiled as she said that, but there was obvious truth. She didn’t want be there. And there’s always a bigger story, so I don’t want to be judgmental.
Life is short. Don’t settle. You are not meant to settle. Find something you love, and do your best. If you’re not there now, it should be your focus to find that place.
